This is my representation of the word, “Catcall”. I express the feeling of being catcalled through an abstract lens. The aliens represent victims of catcall and the cat itself is the harasser. You can feel uneasy by the cat's presence. It has its eye on a victim. The fruit represents the sweet lust. The cat calls out to the aliens over and over, but the aliens aren't happy with the request, it's not the attention they wanted. I created this without the thought of making it about “Catcall”. Like most of my pieces, it is not planned and I grow the ideas as I create. I start to see a story with each paint stroke. Then in the middle to end of the process I think of a word that represents this piece. I like this piece because I feel it shows a lot of freedom, the unclean lines, the colors mixing and overlapping each other, it is not perfect, I am not perfect and it is a part of me.
